I know it is bad etiquette to reply to one's own post but I thought
that I could address many of the same comments in this manner. Any one
who has commented on the extremely unseasonable weather in New England
this time of year, Mazeltov! However that does not mean IMO that the
writers and producers are prescient. They did not consult the Farmer's
Almnanac ( I do not think ) some 8 or 12 weeks ago when this ep was
shot and come to the conclusion that in the middle of February that the
weather would be in the 50's and 60's and no snow on the ground in
Star's Hollow. Remember I stopped watching hafl way through so I do not
know what was depicted at the Cape. I have seen Star's Hollow dressed
for winter. In fact they do such a wonderful job with the "snow" on the
ground that early on in the show I was convinced that they were
shooting in Vancouver. All I was saying was that when L and L stepped
out of L' s house to go to the Cape it looked like full on Summer to me
and even if it was a 55 degree day those were not all Conifer trees in
her yard, too much leafage for winter.

If we absolutely want to save Daniel Palladino slapdash writing, yes, I
feel like your theory is the only possible answer. The character never

Oh, yes, resort to the "Blame it all on Daniel Palladino" answer when
faced with the actual facts that you're wrong. That's a cop-out

Which facts? We are discussing about a warm, warm and warm scenario (And
I don't agree on the first warm). You still believe in your ridiculous
cold, cold and cold thing. From what I see you’re still two steps behind
us!
It’s only 30°f in Quebec today, maybe I’ll eat outside... with my gloves!

persnickety, irrational Buffy fans blaming everything they don't like
about it on Marti Noxon.

Yes, phaedrus, but you're insane and we like you in spite of that. 8^p

You're grasping at straws, Julien, just give up already and accept the
fact that you're factually wrong in your interpretation of the --

actually said cold but they said colder which lead us to a warm, warm
and warm scenario. (Even if it's not the answer I wanted, I'm glad to
see that at least you answered warm to question 2 and 3)
Sure, if we want to justify or if we can’t admit that our favorite show
can also made mistake, even more when it’s not us who discover them, we
have to come up with funny theory that will explain a cold, cold and
cold scenario. Unfortunately, for such theories, you have to ignore,
intentionally or not, the reality of northerner winter.

Upon further thought, I realize I should change some of what I said
above.
The issue isn't "absolute or relative" it's "compared to what?"
I should also say that I wasn't paying that much attention to the
exact weather, in part because nothing struck me as odd about it.
So going from what I seem to recall:
1) The weather was cold compared to what Luke expected
2) It was probably warm compared to a "typical" day in a
"typical" year at that time of year in that location. And my vague
memory suggests that the sets and character actions support this.

the cook in the prologue I was minding my own business when L and L
step outside of the New England house on their way to the Cape in the
dead of winter in nothing more then shirts and skimpy tops amidst the
greenest and most leafy trees this side of South Miami and not the
trees that are green all year round either. That and the fact that this
ep was written and directed by XY Palladino was enough for me to stop
wathcing. BTW L will never marry L. She is not in love with him the way
that he loves her and she knows it.

They shoot GG in a studio lot in Burbank. I walked thru there to see
my sister jsut a little while back. I think it's pretty nice there
this time of year!

Well maybe it's this year. Here in NYC where it's usually very frosty,
we've had a bunch of days where it's been 50, even 60 degrees this
January and February. I don't know whether to rejoice or prepare for
the apocalypse.

I remember the cold weather being the subject of many lines of
dialogue, and Luke was acting pretty cold.

I don't know about that since I stopped watching but I was talking
about the weather in Stars Hollow in February. C'mon, when they stepped
outside didn't you see all that lush green vegetation and not a lump of
snow or ice any where. In any event it was enough of a jolt for me to
stop watching and I attribute it to lazy production values.
