Anyone else surprised by The CW sticking one of their more high profile
shows "Everybody Hates Chris", into the Sunday 7pm "deadzone".
Really nothing other than 60 Minutes really ever gets much notice in
the 7pm hour. Maybe their hope is it can take advantage of that, but, I
still see it as a very odd move. I can't even remember the last show
other than 60 Minutes that had any real traction or is memorable for
being in the 7pm Sunday slot. The last one that came to mind was
"Life Goes On", which looking in my "Total TV" was there for four
seasons (89-93). And before that ABC had "Ripleys" for 4 years. I
guess we'll see if "Chris" can make a mark.

You're actually arguing for the reasons *to* place EHC at 7pm. That
no other scripted shows have gotten put in the timeslot for ages is
all the more reason to put EHC there as the very definition of

Original scripted series (including live-action, single-camera-style
sitcoms that previously succeeded elsewhere in the lineup) *have*
recently been scheduled in the 7:00-8:00 PM ET hour, and they
evidently made so little impact that you don't even remember them.
But rest assured that Howard Gewirtz remembers, and I doubt that he's
happy about this development.
