CW Schedule Revealed; Aquaman Sunk
Written by Scott Collura
Wednesday, 17 May 2006

The new broadcast TV network known as the CW - a merging between UPN
and The WB - will announce its fall lineup tomorrow, but word has of
course already leaked out as to what's on and what's off the
schedule. And for the most part, it looks pretty familiar.

Variety reports that the CW will add only two new shows to the fall
lineup, a sitcom and a drama, while the rest of the shows it airs will
be returning programs from The WB and UPN. A spin-off of Girlfriends
called The Game and the Darren Star drama Runaway are the new series
being anointed by the net, while a Kevin Williamson series called Palm
Springs has received an eight-episode commitment for a midseason bow.

Meanwhile, UPN's Veronica Mars and The WB's One Tree Hill are back
in full force, as are Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, and Smallville (from
The WB), and Everybody Hates Chris, All of Us, and Girlfriends (from
UPN). Other returning shows: 7th Heaven, America's Next Top Model,
Beauty and the Geek, and Friday Night Smackdown.

Meanwhile, Everwood and Reba are out, as are a lot of UPN's
"urban" comedies, including One on One, Half & Half, and Eve. And
the biggest news for genre fans? It looks like the Smallville spin-off
featuring a young Aquaman (which never quite got a title) is now dead
in the water.
