Well, tonite was the season finale (maybe the series finale) of "Surface."
And I'm glad to see it provided some closure. Miles finally joins up with
Dr. Daugherty and Rich and the two of them get to see Nim for the first
time.

This is not closure, it's just a storyline collision. I can't think of ANY
plot thread that actually closed - just more new ones opened. *

the producers are watching lost ;)
In general i wonder why the female scintist had to stutter every
sentence she said during the season ?

To help hide the fact that they were usually filling 44 minutes of
television with about 12 minutes of story?

You saw a lot more story than I did. Unless you mean 12 minutes of story
for the entire season?

Well, all their relatives stopped answering the phone - large breasted girl
& mouth breathing guy just get voice mail now, and when annoying lad's
family tries to call extremely cute sister, they get voice mail, so you
could make the argument that all the relatives plot threads are closed. :-)

Actually, Savannah called their Mom back (from Winston-Salem, I
believe), so she is still alive, at least.
Ian (Though it's anyone's guess as to whether Meester would return for
a second season of "Surface". If I were her agent, I'd tell her to move
on, and try to nab a bigger part elsewhere. But that's just me...)

It's possible all the evil cartel's installations are closed, so the 'lets
sneak in' plot threads are closed.

And with the sea creatures swimming in the flood waters that have
inundated the East Coast, their existence is no longer a secret for
Keith Olbermann to scoff at. Everybody saw them from that helicopter
video camera.
And we can imagine that Miles and Dr. Doughtery are swapping stories and
information about the sea creatures, and Dr. Doughtery now has Nim to
observe close up.
So except for the fact that the sea creatures are now the new top of the
food chain and Homo Sapiens is a meat animal for them, the series is
concluded.
We still don't know what's in the Marianas Trench Subway Station, but we
can live without that.

But nowhere near enough closure. It left open a host of questions, like
where is Dr. Kessler, what was his goal, why are these monorail trains going
to the Marianas Trench (how did they build a subway that big?), on and on

Looks like they're leaving the door open for a second season. After all,
they suddenly started saying "season finale" last week.
But weren't they saying this would be some kind of "all will be revealed"
episode?

and on.

The big question -- are those creatures edible? Will they solve the food
crisis? Will sally struthers barbecue those creatures to feed the hungry
kids?
Kind of tired of the "creature comes to earth to use us as a source of

You don't remember what that reclusive female scientist said these
creaturers were created and made for the simple reason "because they
could".
These creatures are really more akin to being Frankensteins ie lab
created.
If there is a season 2 I suspect we find more people mutating like
Miles. I suspect these creatures will probably trigger an evolutionary
jump in humans. Miles seems at least in the episode where he got the
creatures back into the sea to be able to breathe underwater. At least
thats how I interpreted that scene where he walks with the creatures
into the sea.
