I hope everyone is just out doin' stuff, or on va-cay. (Or maybe it's
just that this summer's offerings really *aren't* very interesting.)

I think that's the problem. I don't see a real breakout summer hit
among the new crop of shows--certainly nothing comparable to Survivor in
the summer of 2000, or even Dancing with the Stars last year.

Huh. I would've thought that with kids getting out of school there'd be
more programming aimed at your tastes and lots for you to discuss.
(making fun of Ian - it's an year-round thing)

Oh, you silly toad(stool), the *opposite* is true.
The only "teen" type shows that have new episodes right now are ABC
Family's "Falcon Beach" (Canadian soap import, which is basically
terrible) and The N's "Beyond the Break" (30-minute surfing drama, which
except for the "close-ups" of the surfers (which are almost as bad as
the Frankie-and-Annette blue-screen shots of old), is actually pretty
good).
Coming soon is "Kyle XY" on ABC Family and "Whistler" on The N (and the
latter is another Canadian import). And that's about it for all Summer.

Well if either of you is looking to fill time with Summer reading I
recommend the fable of "The Grasshopper and the Ant"
|
Nearly all of the "regular" teen (and tween) shows are in hybernation
right now - even "Naturally, Sadie" (*YA* Canadian import, on Disney
Channel) has stopped showing original episodes over the past few weeks.
Ian (Who pines for the Summer 2004 days of "Paradise Hotel"... Ah, good
times, good times...)

'Cos, otherwise, it's a pretty bad sign for the future of this
newsgroup... :(

You're overreacting.
I was offline from late April to late May, and I'm *still* trying to
catch up on the posts I missed during that period... I still have about
2000 posts to consider, if not read, from between May 14-19 alone! I
haven't even had a chance to type up my thoughts on "Texas Ranch House"
yet. :-( Give a guy a chance to catch up!

OK, fine, Tony - I'm granting you a 'waiver'. But just this once! ;p
