New shifts for Lawson, O'Loughlin
By Nellie Andreeva
Maggie Lawson has been named a regular on USA Network's upcoming
series "Psych."
Meanwhile, Australian actor Alex O'Loughlin has joined the cast of
FX's cop drama "The Shield."
"Psych" centers on Shawn Spencer (James Roday), an amateur detective
who cons the police into believing he has psychic powers that help him
solve crimes.
Lawson plays junior Detective Juliet O'Hara, the new partner of head
Detective Roland Lassiter (Tim Omundson).

Maggie Lawson is about as believable as a police detective as... well,
WQ.

Lawson originally was cast in the project as a guest star because of
her commitment to ABC's midseason comedy series "Crumbs." The actress,
whose credits also include ABC's series "It's All Relative" and the
network's telefilm/pilot "Nancy Drew," is repped by Ro Diamond and
Susie Schwarz at SDB Partners and Ellen Meyer Management.
O'Loughlin will play Kevin Hiatt, a new member of Detective Vic
Mackey's (Michael Chiklis) strike team. He will fill the void of the
departure of Kenny Johnson, whose character, Detective Lemonhead
Lemansky, died in the series' fifth-season finale.
