Come on. Get serious. Of course they were only going to give us PART of the
story, PART of the answers, if everything was solved, what would there be
left to tell?
John Bailo...
|
You know, they were moving so fast at the end, it was almost as if they
were! But when they injected the new and serious character of Desmond's
ex finance. Well...

Plus she has a great accent.

So far we know when the series takes place, September 22, 2004 was the day
Oceanic Flight 815 crashed and it's been 65 days since. (Hmm, 65 days, hmm,
42 days for season 1 + 23 days for season 2? Maybe 16, 15, 8 and 4 days for
seasons 3, 4, 5 and 6?)
John Bailo...

Clever.

Wish I could take credit, but someone else did:

And speculated that since standard tv actor contracts are 7 years, the 7th
season might be like 24, with each hour airing in real time--of the Last
Day.

They are alive and not dreaming since that snowbase off-island detected that
"incident" in the season finale.
John Bailo...
|
Did you hear the /snowglobe/ reference in the finale.
Ken from Chicago...
|
I figured Des was drunk off his butt--which he was literally. Also that the
magnetic field of the island screws up compasses and navigational systems
(explaining why the plane was way off course).
|
But since we're dealing with not only current dimensional reality, but a
singularity which can push/pull magnetic transformations from the real
earth to the island...who knows.
Ken from Chicago...
|
Maybe. If they can cross from the island to the outside world and vice
versa, that's close enough to "real" for me.
|
|
We know what the Button does--and saw happens when it's not pushed (well, at

100,000 out of 6,000,000,000 billion people around the globe? 1 out of
60,000 and they happen to get the right ones with so many interconnections?
The math is just too much for it any human organization to control. Forget
control, the fact that so many of the lost survivors have that many
"one-degree" of separation defies normal physics as we understand it.

least partially).
John Bailo...
|
We saw two (and maybe three if you think Henry didn't push it) things
happen. One with Desmond from the inside. One from the outside with
Locke. We don't know if they're the same.
|
What caused the plane to crash.
John Bailo...
What that light was that Locke saw in the hatch.
John Bailo...
|
Mmmm...not that interesting.
|
And a pretty strong indication of whom the leader of the Others are (at
least the on the island).
John Bailo...
|
Didn't the back of the head of that Other they shot and killed look like
the narrator of the Dharma films?
Ken from Chicago...
|
Don't know. Didn't notice.
|
|
John Bailo...
|
Man. There were so many questions I felt they were pretty generous in
answering a ton of them at the end!
Ken from Chicago...
|
Sure. I loved the finale. I was just thinking going forward, especially
since ABC announced next year will have a Fall debut of 7 eps then nothing
until January when the remaining 16 episodes will air straight thru without
repeats, it would be nice to have a Big Question or two answered next
November and February.
|
I think it will take more seasons to fully explore the situation.
I think people should be happy for this *gift* from the writers of /*LOST*/
|
Sure, there are other questions: What is Walt's "gift"? Who are what did
Jack see when he thought he saw his dead dad? What is the deal with the
Numbers? What's that Black Cloud? (If not nanobots, which the producers have
ruled out, then I argue for bioengineered spores, easier technology than
nanotech and the producers haven't ruled spores out.) What happened to the
pilot in the 2-hour pilot episode? What did they do with that polar bear?
These and many more.
