Lots of preemptions in NY city last night. "Veronica Mars" for
basketball and "Boston Legal" (and maybe ABC's 9 o'clock shows as
well) for a special report.

CCS is dead in the water. There run-it-for-a-solid-week may have tested
the waters for both DOND and it proves people have snubbed their noses
at the trashiness that is CCS.

If the show wasn't being aired every night this week, they would have
dropped it after the first episode. But then they would have had to find
something else, like reruns of Deal or No Deal. I've been watching it on
tape (during the day when there's nothing else worth watching) and it looks
more like a way of promoting unknowns than it does a way of showing
celebrities. They would have been better doing it more as an American Idol
show with unknowns trying to become chefs.
In similar news, the "last" episode of Heist aired yesterday (effectively
the series finale, though not planned initially that way). That's another
show NBC would have dropped had they anything else to put on.
Considering that NBC is struggling so badly, it's making it more and more
likely that E-Ring actually has a shot of being brought back. (It's not
officially cancelled, but hasn't been seen since before the Olympics.) Not
that it's a great show (and likely wouldn't survive a normal season), but
NBC can't seem to get anything else to work. I'm sure Las Vegas is getting
renewed for the same reason.
