Does there exist anything like the Reader's Guide to Periodical
Literature, but for TV shows?
It seems like there ought to be something like a "yearbook" that lists
all the episodes for the shows that were in production that year. The
same kind of information that's in the weekly TV listings, but organized
by show for an entire year.
Ive looked at several online resources for episode listings, but havent
been able to find what i'm looking for.
Perhaps there is a physical book to look at, or a commercial database my
library might subscribe to.

I've never heard of anything.
There is www.tvtome.com that used to be fairly good for looking up
brief entries for each episode, though the quality varied with show.
But, they've revamped (and it now redirects to the new URL), and I
think something l was lost in the move.
imdb.com does it too, but it's more about movies with the tv coverage
secondary.
There are books that deal with tv series over the years. "Total Television"
is one, there's another one that I don't have which I've always meant to
get (but can't recall the title), and undoubtedly some lesser books, like

Tim Brooks "Complete Directory to Prime Time Network TV Shows" ?
and undoubtedly some lesser books, like

"Favorite TV Shows" which I bought at a used book sale (but is certainly
more limited in coverage than "Total Televsion". But these books have
entries for tv shows, but do not detail specific episodes (barring some
high points in the series).
The only thing I can think of that comes close to what you want is that
over the years, people have written books about specific series and
they sometimes an episode by episode coverage. But not every tv
series has one, and maybe they are weighted in favor of shows
that didn't have a large following but had an avid following.
I suppose you can get TV Guide on microfiche, which would give
you episode entries, albeit only if the episode was covered
that week.
