LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Pop star Britney Spears and her husband were
cleared of any wrongdoing by child welfare agents who visited their
home in response to a hospital report of an injury to their infant son,
her lawyer said on Wednesday.
The statement from attorney Martin Singer did not give details about
the mishap that led to Saturday's house call by the Los Angeles County
Department of Children and Family Services, or DCSF.
But according to published accounts by the Los Angeles Times and People
magazine, the Saturday visit to Spears' home in the beachfront enclave
of Malibu came after her 6-month-old son, Sean Preston, fell from a
high chair and hit his head.
People magazine said the baby slipped from his nanny's arms and fell to

Sure....blame it on the nanny....the hired help always takes the fall
for the rich and famous.

That's actually worth considering. They're already under the spotlight
as it is. Pay off a nanny and she's sitting pretty for life so long as
she signs a confidentially agreement.
|
It's only a matter of time before something really, really bad happens
to this baby. He's probably already retarded from the head trauma...
This whole story is fishy to me. Why would doctors be concerned enough
to involve the authorities? Obviously, their story is suspect.

In most states, hospitals and doctors are REQUIRED to report any
"suspicious" injuries to the authorities. Any infant injury from a
"fall" is suspicious because, unfortunately, inadequate parenting has
proven that most "falls" ARE suspicious.

Yeah, but after the illegal baby on lap driving incident, you got to
admit it smells kind of fishy that they boy is taken to the hospital
after they claim he fell in the high chair under the nanny's supervision
6 days after the incident because he was sleeping a lot. He could have
fallen under their care and then of course and they'd be fearful to take
him directly to the hospital becaus of the driving crime. So they do
nothing and hope for the best. They notice he's been sleeping "a lot"
and after 6 days they'll leave him alone w/ a nanny at least once or
twice probably so they're concerned about him and now have a fallguy.
Okay, assuming what you say is the truth: The highchair WAS faulty and
the nanny WAS taking care of Sean........ if anything, they're kind of
not terribly bright for not taking him to the hospital when they got
home and found out about given it was a head trauma.

The best parents are the ones that run around 2 inches behind their kids on
the playground just waiting to grab them if they fall. Meanwhile, at home,
any proper parent will cover all wall corners and funiture legs with
pillows.

A doctor can tell if a toddler falls from his or her own height, or
from a bed or dresser or high chair, obviously. Usually, it's the
injuries that happen at home that raise the eyebrows. Personally, I
think authorities/laws have gone too far overboard in defining
"suspicious" injuries, but I don't have much input. ;-)
