His Father passed away the night before and tonight he recollected and
paid tribute.

It was a nice show. Too bad it came after a Letterman rerun, that
probably meant fewer people than usual were watching.

I missed it too, I went to a hockey game earlier in the evening and
then had stuff to do. In St. Louis, they delay Late Late for one of
those magazine shows (whichever one has Deborah Norville), which
doesn't help.

It was a remarkable show, but for the last six months CF has really
been lighting it up. Didn't his parents visit the show back in the
first months? More of a degree of directness with CF than with any
host I can recall, which is why it worked for CF where I'm not sure it
would really work for anyone else on the tube. Which is where I get a
little uncomfortable, because I wouldn't want this to start a _trend_
of hosts having even the most touching eulogies from their personal
lives mixed in with my daily entertainments. So much of CF's
monologues are personal, I suppose this was more than OK, it was even
appropriate, necessary. Anyway, condolences to Craig, farewell to the
Big Scrubber and, aye, thanks for having faith in his son.
Just noticed it was back to repeats last night, still listed as new
for tonight, hope I can stay awake to catch it live and see.

That was a really remarkable hour of television. I turned it on having
no idea what had happened... it was really sad and really sweet at the
same time. Nice of CBS to let him do that, and it was so cool that he
was able to gather together those special guests to lend him support,
and even that bagpipe band!
Aye, Robert Ferguson!
